Best Paranormal Fantasy Novels/Series

Angie over at Angieville linked to Barnes and Noble’s blog post “The 20 Best Paranormal Fantasy Novels of the Last Decade”, and compiled her own “Best 10” list.

Far be it from me not to jump on the bandwagon 🙂 Since so many paranormal fantasy novels are part of a series, I decided to make my life easier and include ‘series’ as an option on my list, which lets me include LOTS more books and also saves me from trying to pick a favorite book in a series. I also sorted my list by author, avoiding the agony of trying to rank my favorite books. I am all for taking the easy route today.

As I was looking though my LibraryThing collections, I also realized how poorly defined the term ‘paranormal fantasy’ is. Do Harry Potter books fall under ‘paranormal’ fantasy? Where is the line between paranormal fantasy and paranormal romance? When is it paranormal, and when is it supernatural? At which point I got a headache and took some painkiller.
